Satin Scarf

A satin scarf is used to protect your hair and seal in moisture. It can also be worn under scarves that have a rough texture that would cause breakage.

Satin Bonnet

I wear bonnets over my scarves. This gives an extra layer of protection and heat as well as helps keep friction from pulling off your scarf at night.

Satin Pillowcase

Satin pillowcases serve two purposes. 1. Reduce friction from your pillow when you decided to not wear a scarf (don’t). 2. Reduces friction between your scarf and the pillow, so if comes off less at night.

Microfiber Hair Towel

A microfiber towel freduces frizz when you get out of the shower. I like the ones that are shaped to wrap around your head. They smooth your hair down while drying your hair faster.

HAIR Scissors

Do not use regular scissors to cut your hair, they are not sharp enough. Also consider replacing your old scissors, they could be too dull and cause split ends to run up your hair strand.

Detangling Brush

I’ve heard good things about the Felicia Leatherwood detangling brush. You can learn about my finger detangling methods in this post.  I finally gave it a try and I am super glad I did. I purchased this myself to see what the fuss was about, I love it. Use a good slippery product! I like to dilute my products with water and add more water by rinsing it under the shower, then separate and comb through.

Spray Bottles

Spray bottles are a must have. They are used to replenish the moisture in your hair with water or water and oil. I recommend getting more than one so you can have different mixtures readily available.

Applicator Bottles

Applicator bottles are good for applying a treatments or oiling your scalp (if you so choose to). I have used castor oil or Africa’s Best oil at my roots so these are helpful. I usually get my bottles by reusing old ones I already have.

Pretty Scarves

When you want to deep condition or just don’t feel like doing your hair. A scarf will do just the trick. Protect your hair with a satin scarf to keep the material from rubbing against your hair.  I usually buy my scarves in person if I see one. I like to get a feel of the material to see if it will be easy to use. However, I purchased this particular one from Melanin Haircare because I love Naptural 85, and I love it.

Filler Scarves

You may go through a small obession phase. No judgement here. I support it. Filler scarves are used to add volume to your scarf styles. So I wear them under other scarves. Or as a hair band like above. They are thin and usually quite cheap. I always use these instead of puffs because I dont like instability.
